Effect of different planets in First House

Planets have different effects in different houses. This effect may be benefic or malefic depending upon their placement in exaltation/ debilitation, Moola- trikona, own house or natural friend’s/ enemy’s house. This effect may be favorable if it is under the influence of natural benefic planets like Jupiter, Mercury, Venus or Moon; or unfavorable, if it is under the influence of  natural malefic planets like Saturn, Rahu, Mars, Sun or Ketu.
Let us start enumerating the effect of different planets in the First House or the Lagna or the Ascendant which is primarily a kendra bhava and secondarily a trikona bhava. Since the First House or the Lagna signify the self and the personality of the native, it becomes the most important bhava of any native. The characteristics of the planets placed in the Lagna influence the physical features and nature of the native. Also, if benefic planets are placed in Lagna, then they enhance all good things in life, name and fame and also income from various sources. Malefic planets placed in the Lagna give quite contrary results.
The effects of different planets in the First House are as follows:
SUN:
The natives with Sun in the first house are generally knowledgeable, intelligent, learned, wise and ambitious. They don’t hesitate to take initiative and, thus, become the natural leaders. They acquire considerable wealth and are less spoken.
They are not flexible in their approach and, generally, lack the forgiving attitude. They may suffer from eye or heart diseases. Sun in the first house is not favorable for marital life.
MOON:
The natives with Moon in the first house are handsome with strong built. They are clever and intelligent enough to succeed in their materialistic pursuits.
In case of weak or afflicted Moon, they remain restless and indecisive. They are prone to ear diseases.

The natives with Mars in the first house possess healthy body & strong constitution. They are courageous and fond of exploring new places. They enjoy a comfortable life.
They are generally prone to wounds, injuries and accidents. They have unstable mind. Their married life remains perturbed in most of the cases.

The natives with Mercury in the first house are soft spoken and kind hearted. They succeed in their academic pursuits and are, usually, proficient in arts, poetry, literature and mathematics. They get married early.
They are prone to skin or eye diseases. Many of them remain dissatisfied with their married lives.
JUPITER:
The natives with Jupiter in the first house are good natured with dignified appearance. They are learned and believe in righteous things. They get all material comforts and happiness from their children.
In case of affliction by malefic planets or debilitation, they show a tendency of ungratefulness and false vanity.
VENUS:
The natives with Venus in the first house are soft spoken with charming personality. They are wealthy and fond of all good things in life. Some of them excel in mathematics.
They are usually prone to rheumatic diseases and troubles in generative organs.
SATURN:
The natives with Saturn in the first house (only if in own house or in exaltation) acquire high status & position. They are capable to defeat their enemies easily.
They are generally sorrowful, greedy and are prone to rheumatism and bilious complaints.

RAHU:
The natives with Rahu in the first house usually get success with other’s help. They may not be defeated easily.
They don’t enjoy peaceful married life.
KETU:
The natives with Ketu in the first house are good orator and get good education.
They may have to suffer from marital disharmony.
One thing that the readers of this blog should keep in mind is that the above-mentioned effects are general in nature. It is very important to take into consideration the strength of the house and its lord, location of the lord, the exaltations and debilitations of the house-lords, conjunctions, planets in that particular house and various aspects over it, before arriving at any conclusion.
