West– The Direction of Creativity, Clarity & Capability

In Vaastu Shastra, West direction is believed to be ruled by Varun, the Lord of Rains. Though many people don’t consider this direction as a favorable one, but as a matter of fact one may reap lots of benefits by not doing the prohibited tasks in the West and following the principles of Vaastu Shastra.

In Astrology, West direction is said to be occupied by the planet Saturn which, besides other things, signifies perseverance, firmness and fortitude. So, one may develop these attributes by occupying the West direction and propitiating Saturn with chanting of right kind of mantras and doing other remedial things. Further, West direction is generally auspicious for the people having Taurus or Libra as their Ascendant sign, since Saturn, being the yogakarak planet for these signs, mostly confers benefic results on them.

In Feng-Shui, the West direction, besides being the Children area, enhances creativity, clarity and communication. Therefore, keeping this sector always energized is important for achieving the desired success in life, especially for the creative people.

As per the Science of Numerology, the West direction is favorable for the persons born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th in any month, but more particularly so when these dates occur from the 21st December to 27th January, and from the 28th January to 26th February.

One may protect oneself from the malefic effects of West direction and derive the benefic results by adopting the following ways:
v A higher flooring level in the West than the East keeps the occupants in good health.
v Any vertical addition should be made in the West or alternatively in the South of an existing building.
v If possible, keep your children’s bedrooms in West direction.
v Healthy and happy pictures of your children may be displayed in this area.
v Keep the safe along the West direction so that it opens towards the East. This is believed to increase wealth.
v More space in this direction causes losses to the occupants.
v A roof sloping towards the west direction causes financial instability.
v Bathrooms and toilets should be located in the West or alternatively in the north-west.
v The defections in the West direction may give physical loss to male occupants.

One may attain and improve one’s imaginative skills by following these simple Vaastu, Feng-Shui and Astrological principles and earn name & fame in life.
