Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It
represents education, wisdom, wealth, happiness and knowledge in Vedic
Astrology. It is considered as highly beneficial planet. A person under its
influence will be fortunate, successful, generous and religious, if Jupiter is favourably placed in his horoscope.
On the other hand, a negative Jupiter in a horoscope indicates pessimism,
depression and exhaustion.
Saturn is considered a malefic planet in Vedic Astrology.
When placed in adverse sign and house,
it gives sorrow, loss, poverty, misery, accident and obstacles in life. But
when placed in a beneficial sign and house, it bestows a person with great fame
and wealth. Saturn is also considered
the planet of justice. He acts like a judge and gives justice to a person
according to his deeds.
Though
these two planets have quite different characteristics, they give mixed or
different results when they conjoin in particular houses or aspect each other
as under:
· In chapter 25, shloka 24, the author of Hora Sara,
has mentioned that the combination of Jupiter and Saturn in the 3rd,6th,10th
and 11th houses is auspicious; while in all other houses, it is
inauspicious.
· Whenever Jupiter and Saturn combine together, Saturn
will improve while Jupiter gets spoiled.
· In the first house, Jupiter and Saturn make one cruel
and lazy and such a native does not get much happiness and comforts.
· This combination produce excellent results in the
fourth house.The opposition of Jupiter and Saturn will also be very favorable;
the native will be blessed with good progeny, education, recognition, moveable
and immovable property.
· If Jupiter and Saturn are conjoined with respect to
the fifth house, there will either be no male child or male child will not
survive.
Further, this is not a good
combination for high education. One having this combination may not study well,
if other favourable combinations are not also there.
The native does not have the
requisite happiness from children.
The native face scarcity of
wealth as the karaka of money-Jupiter-gets spoiled due to conjuction with
Saturn.
Jupiter and Saturn’s
influence on the fifth house may also cause jaundice, cirrhosis or a sluggish
liver. This is very strongly indicated when Mars also influences this
combination.
· If this combination occurs in seventh house, the
native will lose money on account of women. He will also be addicted to vices.
· The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the tenth
house makes one a lawyer, magistrate or judge.
· The combination of Jupiter and Saturn is not so bad
in fiery signs such as Aries, Leo and Sagittarius as in earthy signs such
as Taurus, Virgo and Capricon.
· If Jupiter and Saturn are retrograde, the results
will not be adverse. Rather, it will promote Jupiter’s influence.
It should be noted that while taking into consideration the combination
of Jupiter and Saturn, the strength and weakness of other planets in the
horoscope should also be weighed before arriving at the right conclusion.
