Planets have different effects in different houses. This effect may be benefic or malefic depending upon their placement in exaltation/ debilitation, Moola- trikona, own house or natural friend’s/ enemy’s house. This effect may be favorable if it is under the influence of natural benefic planets like Jupiter, Mercury, Venus or Moon; or unfavorable, if it is under the influence of  natural malefic planets like Saturn, Rahu, Mars, Sun or Ketu.

Let us start enumerating the effect of different planets in the Seventh House which is primarily considered for marriage and marital happiness of the native and secondarily for trade and business.

North – The Direction of Wealth & Possessions

‘Money makes the mare go’ is the most popular saying of this materialistic world. “Money is like sea-water. The more we drink the thirstier we become”, said Arthur Schopenhauer, a German philosopher. Everybody in this world craves to have it more. In Vaastu Shastra, North is the direction for money and riches and Lord Kubera is the lord of this direction who has a golden spear in his right hand and a golden pot in his left hand containing gold and precious stones. So, one may have good amount of affluence by looking after and activating the North direction.

In Astrology, North direction is represented by the planet Mercury which signifies accounts, mathematics, trade & profession, speech and intelligence greatly needed to earn money. So, one may improve one’s riches by propitiating Mercury with chanting of right kind of mantras and doing other remedial things.

In the same way, the North direction of a house is responsible for career and business luck in Feng-Shui. East – The Direction of Health, Harmony & Happiness

The East direction is considered auspicious in Vaastu Shastra because the Sun rises in the East. Since time immemorial, people have been worshipping the Sun as God because it is the main source of energy and gives us heat and light- the essence for the survival of human beings on earth. It’s been scientifically proved that the morning sunrays, enriched with ultra-violet rays, induce the production of vitamin D in the skin and have regulatory roles in calcium metabolism, cell proliferation, insulin secretion and blood pressure.

In Astrology, East direction is represented by the planet Sun. So, one may improve one’s health and vitality by propitiating Sun with chanting of right kind of mantras and doing other remedial things.

In the same way, East is responsible for the peace and harmony in family life and the happiness of marriage in Feng-Shui.
